1st. Area: Enjoyed at “El Meco” coral reef
Enjoyed at “El Meco” coral reef, one of the best-conserved spots in the Great Mayan Reef, full of fish and marine life with an 8-12 feet depth, warm water and few or non-sea currents. Plenty of coral and fish schools. You may enjoy the first turtle encounter in this area! -
2nd. Area: 2 submarine art galleries
Our 3rd stop os at "MUSA Underwater Museum" where we'll enjoy 2 submarine art galleries: "The blessings" and "Aquarium Family", art and environment interaction in the depths of the Caribbean Sea. -
3rd. Area: Swim with sea turtles

Before getting on board, you are invited to take a short but useful briefing - lesson on shallow waters. You will be taught to wear the equipment properly, swim with fins, breath through the snorkel, to defog the mask and other useful tips that will make your experience much more enjoyable.
Get special attention for non-swimmers: We're experts turning your anxiety into joy. If you, or a relative are beginners or non swimmers, you can still enjoy this snorkel adventure. A guide will stay on the side the whole time wearing a life preserver where the non-swimmer can hold from, personalized attention during briefing-lesson is offered, and of course a life jacket. You may want to take a look in to our specially desgined tour for non-swimmers and beginners.
"Extraction" service: In the unlikely case that you get dizzy, the marina is located less than 1 mile away from the reef, so we'll send a boat to take you to land within minutes!
No need to spend a whole day to swim with turtles: There are some other few places to snorkel with turtles in Cancun and Riviera Maya. It's usual to swim with turtles in Akumal, however you spend more time in transportation than actually swimming with them. So if you prefer to spend the rest of your day in your awesome resort or doing an extra activity, our "half day tour" is perfect for you.
Service and safety are our top priorities. Groups will be kept small (max.10 people) in order to offer you the best service. If you’re a larger group we can handle it under special request (at least 3 days in advance).

I can’t swim, can I take this snorkeling tour?
Of course, our tour is friendly for people who do not know how to swim or have little or no experience! We’re experts turning our guests anxiety into joy. We offer life jackets, our trained guides will give you personalized attention and help in every moment. The guides will have a lifeguard where you can support yourself. Finally, we have masks that cover the face completely, so you will not have to breathe through the tube. Our 5 different schedules are perfect to carry out the activity, allow good visibility within the water and marine life, the behavior of water (current) does not vary either. Choose the one that best suits your day’s itinerary. -
Is the sea warm in Cancun? What water temperature is comfortable to swim in?
The water in Cancun stays at 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year, at any time of the day will have a pleasant feeling. If required, Total Snorkel Cancun provides thermal vests with no extra cost. -
What should I bring to my snorkeling tour?
We suggest to bring swimsuit, rash guard or sunscreen (must be biodegradable), a set of dry clothes to use on your way back (remember vans are air conditioned), cash or credit card for personal expenses (pics & videos, souvenirs, extra drinks, etc). -
If I do not want to do the activity and I just want to go as a companion on the boat, can I do it?
Yes, companion(s) are welcome, but prior reservation is required. Please add the companion or rider in your reservation. The cost basically covers the transportation cost and the mandatory insurance for anyone on board. The companion can be in the boat at all times, and the crystal clear water will allow to observe everything that happens during the tour.

- Sunscreen is not allowed, as an enviromental protection measure (coral reef damage). Long sleeve shirt or rashguard is recommended

An amazing and unforgettable experience. Was just breathtaking seeing a turtle in its natural habitat. Even saw a mantaray zoom past!! I booked this trip as a surprise for my boyfriend and he LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!! I felt it was quite hard work but the guide has a floating ring you can hold on to which made it much easier for me!!!! There is a photographer there that takes pictures which are $60 but we didn’t purchase these as we took our own. Would highly recommend.

Great people. This is no fancy show, this is real snorkeling in the ocean. Our kids ages 9-17 had a great time seeing huge sea turtles, fish, and so much more. Great guides who were very helpful to all of our family members. It was worth every penny. Just pack snacks, this is a snorkeling business, not a restaurant and all that swimming has us hungry after. Bottled water was provided, along with transportation and equipment. The showers were clean and beautiful, they even provided towels.
